  • Single-member LLCs owned by non-residents are treated as disregarded entities for US tax purposes.
  • If your LLC has no US-source income, you may have minimal US federal tax obligations.
  • Form 5472 + pro-forma 1120 must be filed annually regardless of income.
  • Wyoming has no state income tax — the preferred state for non-residents.

Can I form a US LLC from Ghana without visiting the US?
Yes. The entire process is done remotely. You do not need to travel to the United States, have a visa, or hold a Social Security number. We handle the filing with the Secretary of State, obtain your EIN by calling the IRS, and guide you through the bank account application — all while you remain in Ghana.
Will I get full Stripe access with a US LLC?
Yes. Stripe is not available directly in Ghana. Once your LLC is formed and you have an EIN and US bank account, you can register for a full Stripe account. This gives you access to card payments, subscriptions, invoicing, and Stripe Connect — none of which are available with a Ghanaian address.
How do I get money from my US bank account to Ghana?
Wise Business is the most popular method. Transfer USD to your Ghanaian bank account at real mid-market exchange rates. Typically processes in 1-2 business days. You can also use Payoneer or traditional wires, though fees are higher.
What is Form 5472 and why does it matter?

What about Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) tax obligations?
Ghana taxes residents on worldwide income. US LLC earnings must be declared to the GRA. There is no US-Ghana tax treaty, so consult a qualified Ghanaian tax professional about your obligations and how to claim foreign tax credits if applicable.
Can I still use Mobile Money alongside my US LLC?
Absolutely. Your US LLC is for international payments. Your existing MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, or AirtelTigo Money operations continue unchanged. Many Ghanaian founders use both — mobile money locally and Stripe through their US LLC internationally.
Is BOI reporting still required?
No. BOI reporting was eliminated in March 2025. Your main obligations are Form 5472 and your state annual report.
How does this compare to using Paystack or Flutterwave?
Paystack and Flutterwave work in Ghana for African payments but have limitations with international clients who expect Stripe or standard US payment processing.
